The Cougars played their first official game in CSU history yesterday against UALR. Luckily, UALR offers a live video stream for their women's soccer games so I was able to catch it. Unfortunately, the Cougars had about 8 poor minutes in the first half.. which led to six goals by UALR. The result was a 7-0 defeat. Now the scoreline looks pretty bad but given the fact that six of the seven goals were given up in two four minute stretches, I'm okay with the result. I know it's going to be a long year for the squad due to their inexperience. But the main thing I saw was that the team fought hard and didn't give up. They play again today at UAPB -- which only won two games last year. I'm hopeful we can have a little tighter scoreline today!
