The Cougars once again had volleyball and soccer games on the same day. The volleyball team played the first place UMKC 'Roos again and had a similar result as Friday. The Cougars lost the matchup 0-3 (8-25, 10-25, 9-25).. being held to a hitting percentage of just -.077. The was the team's 33rd consecutive conference loss dating back to the GWC days. Hopefully they can pull a few wins together at the end of the season to steal the last spot in the WAC tournament.
As for the soccer team, well... it was a pretty rough day. They were down 0-7 at the half and ended up losing 0-11. They played at Seattle which is one of the top teams in the conference, and this was Seattle's senior day. As one could imagine, they came out with intensity and didn't look back. The Cougars remain winless in conference play with two games remaining. Given both games are against UMKC, it's unlikely the Cougars will qualify for the WAC tournament. If they can force a tie in other match then I'd consider it a quality result.
