So the Cougars will have a chance to secure the 3 seed in the WAC Tournament tomorrow against Seattle. If they win, they got it. If they lose, they need Idaho to beat UMKC (at UMKC) or else they'll be the 4 seed. In all honesty, I'm not so certain it would be a BAD thing to be a 4 seed. I'm not hoping for a loss or anything, but a 4 seed would put the Cougars up against (insert team here) Bakersfield, Seattle, Idaho, or UMKC. These are all teams the Cougars beat during the season. If they win the first game, the Cougars then would face UVU or (again.. insert team here) Bakersfield/Seattle/UTPA. I would like the match-up more against one of these teams instead of NMSU. I know the Cougars knocked off NMSU earlier this year but this is a different Aggie team. Even though they're the 2 seed in the tournament, I'd be willing to bet they're favored by far to win it. Well, as a 3 seed the Cougars would potentially face NMSU in the second round of the tournament. As a 4 seed, it would be in the championship. Yes -- I'm aware one cannot look that far into the tournament and you need to take it game by game. But, if you can avoid NMSU by one round then it provides the chance they could get knocked out before you play them. I know I'm rambling and there are so many scenarios it is WACdiculous but tonight and tomorrow makes a huge difference for all teams including NMSU and UVU. Now, what would I prefer? I say go beat Seattle at home. Get the 3 seed. Win the first round game and make some heads turn by beating the Goliath NMSU for the second time this season. Finish it with a win in the WAC Championship game! Who doesn't love Cinderella in March?
